We can train our minds to work for us rather than against us by thinking in the direction of what we want, even if we aren’t sure how to get there. If you don’t fully believe in yourself, if the most you can say is, “I think I can,” that’s a great start.

Believing in yourself is a process of experiencing positive outcomes and building confidence.  It helps to have positive expectations since what you put your attention on is what you are more likely to get.  Affirm what you want.  Tell yourself, “I think I can.”  Or, “I can do that.” And as Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote about in his book titled, You’ll See It When You Believe It, you too may just find yourself saying, “I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could.”

The field of Positive Psychology, otherwise known as the study of happiness, is relatively new compared to the study of depression and anxiety.  Studies show that we can change our thinking and the way our brain processes information.  It all starts with developing an awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and a desire to become happier. Some of the benefits of choosing thoughts and behaviors that support a healthy mind are: clearer thinking, better decision making, being more focused, sleeping better, feeling calmer, being able to learn better, having the ability to handle the challenges of life easier and of course feeling happier.
