Inspiration in The ShowerHave you ever noticed that your best ideas come to you when you are in the shower or if you are a guy, while shaving? You may get a solution to a problem you have been dealing with or a burst of creativity.

No one really knows why we get inspiring messages around water.  It may have something to do with the flow of water leading to the flow of ideas, or it could be that showering puts us in the state of flow, similar to meditation, allowing us to connect to our intuition. During this time we are open to receiving information while not distracted by electronics, other people or multi-tasking.

Let the ideas flow!

100th Post, Accepting Help, Creating a Healthy Lifestyle, Happiness, Health, Healthy Lifestyle, healthy-living, Inspiration, Positive Psychology, Prevention of Diet Related Diseases, Psychology, Recipes, Reversal of Diet Related Diseases in Children and Adults, rich experience

Today is my 100th post!  I’ve always admired people who are creative, have experiences and information to present and are willing to share who they are.  That’s not how I saw myself 99 posts ago.

I truly am amazed that I took the leap to accept help from a friend who encouraged me to start a blog when I had no experience at all with blog sites. I also had encouragement and suggestions from another friend who is an avid blog reader.  I dived in and learned how to upload photos, figure out what tags are and how search engines work. Yet the biggest step I took was when I nervously clicked the “publish” button to “go live” with my first post.

I had already been researching and writing a book for families on positive psychology, prevention and reversal of diet related illnesses, and healthy living, with the hopes of one day getting published. While I have used some of what I had already written, I am in awe and love the feeling of being inspired, even if it’s at 3am., with a great idea to write about or a new recipe to create.

I appreciate all of the people who read what I post, allowing me to share a part of myself with the world while making a positive difference in the health and lives of others.

A big thanks goes to my wonderful friends Linda and Jamie, who got me started on rich experience!

Love, Health & Happiness,

Phyllis

2012 Olympic InspirationThe 2012 Olympics start tonight and will showcase the best athletes in the world.  For many, it has not been an easy journey.  I encourage you and your friends and family, especially children, to watch and read about the stories of the athletes competing.

Here are some things to look for while getting to know some of the athletes:

1. How old were they when they started in their sport?

2. How many years of commitment and dedication did they put into becoming the best of the best?

3. What did it take to train for these 2012 Olympics? What did they do daily?

4. How do they prepare mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually to compete?

5. What do they do to stay calm and relaxed on competition day?

6. What helps them stay focused?

7. What obstacles did they have to overcome to become an Olympic athlete?

8. What did they give up or have to miss out on (the trade-off) in order to become an Olympic athlete?

9. What types of food and drinks do they consume and how much?

I hope that by learning about some of the 2012 athletes and their lifestyles, that you may find the passion, dedication and focus to pursue your dreams, athletic or other.

Love, Health & Happiness,

Phyllis
